Playland Nursery School is owned and directed by Gary and Barbara Bloom.  Gary and Barbara also own and direct Camp Playland .  Gary has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and is certified by the State of Connecticut as a Head Teacher.  Barbara has a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Reading.  Gary and Barbara taught in the Stamford Public Schools prior to the opening of Playland Nursery School.

We maintain a ratio of one teacher per five children.  This excellent ratio allows children the freedom to function openly in the play areas and in the classroom while being well supervised at all times.  Our staff to child ratio also enables the teachers to plan a myriad of activities and still provide individual attention throughout the morning.

Each class has a head teacher and two or three assistants.  The head teachers are experienced, mature adults who love children.  They are dynamic, creative individuals who spend tremendous time and energy to plan the enriched Playland experience.  Assistant teachers are hired for their love of children and their ability to enhance the program. 

Playland is proud of the longevity within our teaching staff.  The majority of our teachers have worked here for ten years or more.  Our superior staff coupled with continuity in leadership makes Playland a premier school.
